Be a part of CABLJ
Every year the Corporate and Business Law Journal selects approximately 30 first-year law students for membership. All students, regardless of ranking, must complete the Write-On Exam to join. All students wishing to apply must participate in the annual writing competition that tests candidates on their editing skills and legal writing ability. CABLJ strongly encourages all students to participate in the writing competition. Based on the needs of the Journal that year, it may accept up to 5 additional students who have submitted special petitions or who received the next highest scores in the Write-On Competition.
Candidates who accept membership offers must serve a two-year commitment to CABLJ. During their first year, members serve on editing teams that substantively edit, bluebook, and proofread the Journal’s content. In their second year, members are eligible to serve on CABLJ‘s Executive board, lead editing teams and serve on various committees (such as the Articles Committee, the Fundraising Committee, the Social Media Committee).
